About Tracy Carlson
Tracy Carlson was born and raised in Texas. The natural beauty and scenic diversity of the American Southwest is one of her main inspirations and can be seen throughout her work, even when she's photographing places like New York, Rome, or the open road. Her dramatic representations of everyday life highlight the beauty in the ordinary world, and her passion for turning forgotten places into fine art is what sets her work apart.
Tracy has shown at galleries across the country and sold to private businesses, interior designers, and everyday art lovers looking to bring a splash of color into their homes. Her work has appeared in Houston Press, Houston Chronicle, Houston: It’s Worth It — Ike, and even George Bush Intercontinental Airport. Tracy’s photos were recently licensed by Disney and featured in the set design of CBS’s Criminal Minds. She’s also published two books, Roadtripping Texas and Roadtripping Texas 2010, that collect some of her best shots from around the state. Tracy is very proud to donate her art to and serve as Chairman of the Board of the Hoof Prints and Heart Beats Organization, which provides free equine therapy to children and adults with special needs. Most recently she, along with Sonja Fulbright of Crush Design, Co., have created the Heartmade Art Market to benefit Texas artists and local charities.
